Building Walls for Freedom: A Revolutionary Animal Rights Micronation Initiative Launch & Fundraiser

On Sunday, August 6th, from noon-5 pm, join us at the Wishbone Animal Rights Lab, 600 Bay Street, Toronto, as we introduce the world to an exciting new micronation initiative – The Democracy for Animals Kingdom (DFA Kingdom).

Taking inspiration from Freetown Christiania’s model of self-governance, the DFA Kingdom reimagines what a micronation can look like. More than a haven for alternative living, it stands as a testament to cross-species cohabitation, animal rights, and environmental stewardishment. The DFA Kingdom’s mission is to provide voice, protection, and rights to non-human vertebrates, creating spaces where they can thrive freely and safely.

Central to our mission is the creation of protective kingdom walls. These barriers will encircle four special parcels of land – a verdant 20-acre swathe in the Peruvian Amazon in Puerto Maldonado, two unique locations in Arkansas, and a tranquil 12-acre plot in Hastings County, Ontario. Each wall is a symbol of sanctuary, preserving the ecosystems within and providing safety to the diverse wildlife that call these regions home.

This event, taking place from noon-5 pm, is a rallying call for support and an opportunity for you to learn more about this pioneering project. We will delve into the structure, mission, and vision of the DFA Kingdom, drawing parallels to the successful model of Freetown Christiania, and illustrating how the protective kingdom walls will act as a catalyst for revolutionary change in our approach to animal rights and environmental preservation.

We will also be fundraising for the construction of these walls. Every contribution aids in building these barriers of protection while tearing down the walls of indifference that have long separated human and animal interests.
